Goodman and Wiggle bring Travel Choices to Oxford

23 Oct 2014

Global property group, Goodman, is building on its partnership with the world’s leading cycling and tri-sports e-tailer, Wiggle, to offer more convenient bike repair services as well as road safety advice at Oxford Business Park for people that work there.

Kicking off on the 30th October 2014, the series of events hosted by Goodman and Wiggle will be attended by Oxfordshire Travel Choices who will be on-hand to talk through the different transport options open to employees travelling to the park, including cycling.

Oxford Business Park is home to 69 companies and over 5,000 employees. By providing this service at the workplace, Goodman is hoping to encourage more of its customers’ employees to ride to work – promoting regular physical activity and fitness.

Richard Potter, Property Services Director at Goodman, said: “For people who are new to cycling, bike maintenance can be a little daunting, and difficult to fit around their busy working lives. As part of our ongoing commitment to offering sustainable travel options to our customers, we hope that our joint initiative with Wiggle will make bike repairs, and therefore cycling, more accessible.

We’re excited that a team from Oxfordshire County Council will be joining us on the day.  Their campaign Oxfordshire Travel Choices aims to help you save money and get fitter by using more active and environmentally friendly forms of transport. They will be on hand to assist staff with personal travel planning.”

Natalie Moore, Assistant Transport Planner at Oxfordshire County Council, said: “as part of the Oxfordshire Travel Choices campaign we have been running events in and around Headington to promote walking, cycling or the use of public transport. We’re looking forward to talking to staff at the Business Park to offer support and motivation to help people take advantage of local sustainable travel opportunities.”

The new Wiggle service is available at a select number of Goodman business sites across the UK and will enable Wiggle to provide a face-to-face bike servicing offer to its growing online customer base. The service, which will be available to people working on Goodman’s parks, as well as the local community, is priced competitively starting at £25.00 for a standard service.
